# Migrating Positions

The migration endpoints move a user's entire position into a DeFindex vault in **one atomic transaction**. The withdrawal from the old position and the deposit into the new vault travel inside the same transaction, so the migration either fully succeeds or fully reverts: there is no intermediate state where the user is left holding loose funds between the two steps, and nothing for your application to clean up after a failure.

Every endpoint returns an **unsigned transaction XDR**. Your application has the user sign it, then submits it either directly to the Stellar network through your own RPC connection, or through the API's `POST /send` endpoint. Authentication is the standard `Authorization: Bearer <api_key>` header used across the API.

There are two migrations:

* [**Blend to DeFindex**](/integration-guide/migrating-positions/blend-to-defindex) (mainnet only): move a user's Blend USDC lending position into a DeFindex vault, with an optional first step to recover their BLND rewards.
* [**DeFindex to DeFindex**](/integration-guide/migrating-positions/defindex-to-defindex) (mainnet or testnet): move a user's full position between two vaults, for example when retiring a vault or moving users onto one with a different strategy set.
